13 Day Annpurna base camp trek is a sample of soaring snow-capped peaks you will see along the trail: Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m) Mt. Manaslu (8163 m), Mt. Annapurna II (7937 m.), Mt. Annapurna III (7555m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7525m), Mt. Annapurna south (7219m), Mt. Nilgiri (7041m), Mt. Machapuchare (6998m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6986m) and Tukuche Peak (6920m).
Some of the mountains seen from ABC are Tharpu Chuli (5663m), Singu Chuli (6501m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and South Annapurna (7219m). On the trail, you will see numerous chortens (Buddhist stone monuments), prayer flags, yaks grazing, bamboo and rhododendron forests, and the unique Tibetan style architecture of this region.
One of the main features of this trek is being exposed to the unique cultures of various villages and their enduring lifestyle high in the mountains, such as the Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Magar, and Thakali people. Many of these villages have age-old Buddhist an Hindu temples.
The trail takes us through Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chomrong, Deurali villages before reaching Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)
Your guide will take you through rhododendron and Cyprus forests, across many suspension bridges, point out the unique fauna and flora as you go, and ensure that you get the most rewarding experience to be had in this region.
The trail begins at Nayapul, just 2 hours by road from Pokhara. The trail takes you through fascinating traditional villages of Nepal’s ethnic communities, such as Gurung, Magar, and Thakali who hardy mountain people best known for their smiling faces and hospitality. This trek is less physically demanding than some and is ideally suited to those who wish to trek at a leisurely pace in the Himalaya Region.
An early morning trek to Poon Hill is a highlight of this trek. The sun rising explodes over the mountains changing minute by minute. This is where your camera hits overdrive! More than 10 mountains hit you in the face!
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek will be most favorable in the time of the spring season. The trail during spring guarantees a display of the stunning rhododendron forests in bloom with red, white, pink flowers.
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (8,50m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul & trek to Ulleri (1,900m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Day 4: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,860m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Day 5: Hike up to Poon Hill viewpoint (3,210m) & Chuile (2,710m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Day 6: Trek from Chuile to upper Sinuwa (2360m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Day 7: Trek from Sinuwa to Deurali (3,200m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Day 8: Trek from Deurali to ABC (4,120m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Day 9: Trek from ABC to Bamboo (2,400m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
