Jiban Tamang

Founder & CEO

The CEO of Go For Himalaya Treks is a highly experienced mountain trekking professional, born and raised in the beautiful hills of Dhading, Nepal. With a deep-rooted connection to the Himalayas and years of hands-on trekking experience, he has successfully built a trusted name in Nepal’s tourism industry.

Growing up in a remote village of Dhading, he was surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, including views of the Ganesh Himal range. Life in the hills was simple yet physically demanding. From a young age, he developed endurance, discipline, and a strong love for nature.

Like many in rural Nepal, he walked long distances daily and became familiar with mountain trails early in life. These experiences shaped his future career in trekking and tourism.

He began his career as a porter, carrying loads along popular trekking routes. Through dedication and hard work, he gradually became an assistant guide and later a professional trekking guide.

Over the years, he gained extensive experience in leading treks across Nepal’s most iconic destinations, including:

  • Manaslu Circuit Trek
  • Annapurna Base Camp Trek
  • Everest Base Camp Trek
  • Langtang Valley Trek

His deep knowledge of trails, culture, and safety made him a favorite among international trekkers.

 

With a vision to provide authentic, safe, and memorable trekking experiences, he founded Go For Himalaya Treks. His goal was to create a company that reflects true Nepali hospitality while maintaining high standards of service.

Anil Tamang

Head of Operations

At Go For Himalaya Treks, Anil Tamang serves as the Head of Operations, playing a vital role in ensuring smooth, safe, and well-organized trekking experiences across Nepal. With years of hands-on experience in the trekking industry, he is known for his strong leadership, operational expertise, and deep understanding of Himalayan travel logistics.

Anil Tamang was born and raised in Dhading, a region known for its rich culture and proximity to the Himalayas. Growing up in the hills, he developed physical strength, resilience, and a natural connection with mountain life from an early age.

His upbringing in rural Nepal laid the foundation for his future career in trekking and tourism.

As the Head of Operations, Anil Tamang is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all trekking activities. His key responsibilities include:

  • Managing trekking itineraries and logistics
  • Coordinating guides, porters, and support staff
  • Ensuring safety standards and emergency preparedness
  • Handling permits and documentation
  • Maintaining quality service for clients

His attention to detail ensures that every trek runs smoothly from start to finish.

Carlos Mendoza

Latin America Representative

Carlos represents the vibrant heart of Latin America at Trailvista. Born and raised in Colombia, he has a deep love for the region’s diverse landscapes, languages, and cultures. With over a decade in the travel industry, Carlos designs seamless logistics and unforgettable experiences that reflect the real Latin spirit.

From jungle treks in the Amazon to salsa nights in Havana, Carlos ensures travelers experience both the thrill and warmth of Latin America. He’s especially focused on eco-tourism and supports reforestation efforts in areas impacted by tourism. On weekends, he’s either birdwatching or perfecting his ceviche recipe.

Priya Sharma

Representative, South Asia

Priya’s roots in India and her passion for travel make her a natural fit for her role. With extensive experience in cultural tourism and community outreach, she builds strong relationships with local partners and curates journeys that capture the soul of South Asia. She believes tourism should empower local communities, not just entertain travelers.

She regularly leads cultural immersion programs, especially in rural areas, to provide visitors with an authentic and respectful understanding of the region. Priya is also an advocate for women-led tourism initiatives. In her downtime, she enjoys classical dance and writing poetry.A natural problem-solver, he’s known for making even the most complex multi-destination tours feel seamless. When he’s not fine-tuning operations, Daniel is an amateur astronomer and a lover of backcountry camping. His deep respect for local cultures and sustainable tourism drives him to create experiences that leave a positive impact both for travelers and the places they visit.

Daniel Kim

Regional Representative, East

Daniel is Trailvista’s go-to expert in East Asia, bringing deep knowledge of the region’s travel culture, language, and hidden gems. Born in Seoul and educated in Tokyo, he’s fluent in Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin—making him a versatile communicator and trusted local liaison. He ensures smooth coordination between travelers, guides, and local businesses.

Daniel is passionate about preserving cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism. He frequently works with artisans, historians, and chefs to craft immersive experiences for travelers. Off-duty, Daniel loves calligraphy, tea ceremonies, and weekend temple hikes with his dog.

Marcus Li

Lead Tour Coordinator

Marcus is known for his calm leadership and encyclopedic knowledge of destinations. As Lead Tour Coordinator, he handles complex group tours across multiple countries with grace and efficiency. His logistical skills and cultural fluency have earned him glowing feedback from hundreds of travelers.

Marcus is passionate about helping people connect with local communities. He often integrates local volunteer opportunities into group tours. Outside of travel, Marcus enjoys martial arts and is currently learning Italian in preparation for a future cycling trip through Tuscany.

Anika Johansson

Senior Tour Leader,

Anika brings warmth, knowledge, and Scandinavian hospitality to every tour she leads. A native of Sweden, she specializes in fjord cruises, arctic explorations, and heritage experiences. Her background in folklore and Nordic studies adds a unique depth to her storytelling.

She’s especially popular among photography enthusiasts, thanks to her knowledge of natural light and landscape composition. Anika’s idea of fun is leading a group to chase the Northern Lights in Iceland or exploring Viking ruins. In her free time, she writes travel essays and sails the archipelago.

Raj Patel

Heritage Tour Leader

Raj guides travelers through the rich historical corridors of South Asia. With a degree in history and over 12 years of guiding experience, he brings ancient sites to life with vivid storytelling. From Mughal architecture to Buddhist monasteries, Raj’s tours are immersive and deeply educational.

He believes every monument has a soul, and it’s his job to help travelers hear its story. Raj is also active in heritage preservation and often collaborates with archaeologists and conservationists. Off the clock, he’s a cricket lover and amateur historian with a vast collection of antique maps.

Born and raised in a remote village of Dhading, he grew up surrounded by lush forests, terraced fields, and stunning views of the Ganesh Himal range. From a young age, he developed a strong connection with nature and mountains. Walking long distances to school and helping his family in rural life built his endurance and strength, which later became essential for trekking.

Nestled in the beautiful hills of central Nepal, Dhading is home to many experienced and passionate mountain trekking guides. Among them, one dedicated trekking guide stands out for his deep knowledge, friendly nature, and years of experience in the Himalayas.

Local Guide, USA

Emily is a vibrant local guide based in Seattle, Washington, specializing in nature tours across the Pacific Northwest. With a background in environmental science and a love for the great outdoors, Emily curates hiking, kayaking, and forest-bathing experiences that immerse travelers in the region’s natural beauty. She’s especially popular for her storytelling, weaving in Indigenous history, local legends, and ecological insights as guests explore lush trails and misty coastlines.
