Mardi Himal Trek

You’ll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel or accommodation. You can spend the day resting and exploring the city, depending on your arrival time. You can also use this day to meet your trekking guide, finalize any necessary paperwork or permits, and prepare for your trek. You may also want to explore some of the famous tourist attractions in Kathmandu, such as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, or Pashupatinath.

After spending a day in Kathmandu, you’ll start your journey to Pokhara, which is the gateway to many popular trekking destinations in Nepal. The drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes around 6-7 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic.

The route takes you through beautiful landscapes, traditional villages, and lush forests. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas, including the famous peaks of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Once you arrive in Pokhara, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city, relaxing by the beautiful Fewa Lake, or preparing for your upcoming trek.

On this day of your Mardi Himal trek, you’ll drive from Pokhara to Kande, which takes around 1 hour. From Kande, you’ll begin your trek to Forest Camp, which is also known as Kokar. The trek from Kande to Forest Camp takes around 5-6 hours, depending on your pace and fitness level.

The trail takes you through beautiful rhododendron forests, and you’ll also pass by several small villages along the way, such as Australian Camp and Pothana. You’ll also enjoy stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Once you reach Forest Camp, you can rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

You’ll trek from Forest Camp to Low Camp. The trail ascends through the rhododendron forest, and you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South mountains. The trail is relatively easy and gradual, and you’ll pass by several tea houses and lodges along the way.

Once you reach Low Camp, you’ll be surrounded by dense forests of oak and rhododendron, and you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Annapurna and Hiunchuli mountain ranges. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to the higher altitude.

You’ll trek from Low Camp to High Camp. The trail continues to ascend, and you’ll pass through the dense forests of oak and rhododendron. As you climb higher, you’ll notice that the vegetation starts to thin out, and you’ll be surrounded by alpine meadows and stunning views of the Annapurna and Hiunchuli mountain ranges.

The trail is relatively steep and challenging, and you’ll need to take plenty of breaks to rest and acclimatize to the higher altitude. Along the way, you’ll pass by several tea houses and lodges where you can stop for a quick break or a warm meal.

You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing to the higher altitude, and you’ll have the opportunity to go on a short acclimatization hike to explore the surrounding area. It’s important to stay hydrated and to listen to your body to avoid altitude sickness.

Witnessing the sunrise over the Annapurna mountains is truly breathtaking. After enjoying the sunrise, you will trek along a well-established path through the grassy slope to Upper View Point. The hike is relatively short but steep, and it takes around 2-3 hours to reach the Upper View Point from High Camp. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountains.

Once you reach Upper View Point, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Annapurna Sanctuary and the surrounding mountains in the Annapurna and Nilgiri ranges. The views are truly breathtaking, and you’ll have plenty of time to take photos and soak in the scenery.

After spending some time at Upper View Point, you’ll trek back to High Camp for an overnight stay. It’s important to rest and acclimatize properly at this altitude to avoid altitude sickness.

On this day of Mardi Himal trek, you’ll trek from High Camp to Siding Village. The trail descends through beautiful rhododendron forests and passes through several small villages, including the village of Kalimati. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

The trail is well-established and easy to follow, but it can be steep and rocky in some places, so it’s important to watch your footing. As you descend, the vegetation changes, and you’ll see more and more terraced fields and traditional Nepalese houses. You’ll also pass by several small streams and waterfalls.

On the seventh and final day of your Mardi Himal trek, you’ll trek from Siding Village to Lumre. The trail is mostly downhill and passes through beautiful forests and small villages, including the village of Kalimati.

The trail is well-established and easy to follow, and you’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. As you descend, the vegetation changes, and you’ll see more and more terraced fields and traditional Nepalese houses. You’ll also pass by several small streams and waterfalls.

After around 3 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Lumre, where you’ll catch a jeep or bus back to Pokhara. The drive from Lumre to Pokhara takes around 2-3 hours, and you’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys along the way.

Once you arrive in Pokhara, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore the city, relax, and reflect on your incredible Mardi Himal trekking experience.

You’ll drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll have some free time to relax and explore the city. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner with your trekking team, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your experiences and memories from the trek.

The farewell dinner is a great way to celebrate the end of your trekking journey and to say goodbye to your trekking companions and guides. You’ll enjoy delicious Nepali food, music, and dancing, and you’ll have the opportunity to exchange contact information and stay in touch with your new friends. It’s a memorable way to end your Mardi Himal trekking adventure in Nepal.

You’ll depart from Kathmandu to the international airport for your flight back home or to your next destination. Our company will arrange for a transfer from your hotel to the airport based on your flight schedule. It’s important to allow enough time to get to the airport, especially during peak travel season, as the traffic can be unpredictable.

Make sure to pack all your belongings and double-check that you have all your travel documents and necessary items before leaving your hotel. Once you arrive at the airport, you’ll check in for your flight and proceed through security to your departure gate.
