Langtang Valley Trek

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the vibrant city of Kathmandu.

On this day, you will explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Kathmandu Valley. You will visit some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is perched on a hilltop and offers panoramic views of the city. You will also visit Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a significant place of worship for Buddhists.

In addition, you will also explore other historical and cultural landmarks such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, all of which showcase traditional Newari architecture and offer insights into the country’s rich cultural heritage.

On this day, you will start your Langtang Valley Trek with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi, which is located at an altitude of 1503m/4931ft. The drive takes around 7-8 hours and offers stunning views of the Himalayan landscape, terraced fields, and small settlements.

You will pass through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, which are popular tourist stops along the way. Sybrubensi is a small town located on the banks of the Bhote Koshi river and serves as the gateway to the Langtang Valley. You will spend the night in Sybrubensi to prepare for your trekking adventure ahead.

The trail starts by crossing a suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River and then climbs up through terraced fields and dense forests. Along the way, you’ll pass through several small villages, including Doman, Bamboo, and Rimche.

As you gain altitude, the vegetation changes, and you’ll enter a beautiful rhododendron forest. Keep an eye out for Langur monkeys and various species of birds.

After crossing the Lama Hotel Bridge, you’ll reach the Lama Hotel itself, where you’ll spend the night. This is a small village with a few guesthouses and tea shops, and it’s a great place to relax and soak up the stunning mountain scenery.

The trek begins with a gradual ascent through the rhododendron and bamboo forests, crossing several streams and waterfalls along the way. You will also come across several small settlements and tea houses where you can rest and enjoy a cup of tea or a snack.

As you ascend higher, you will notice a significant change in the landscape with the trees becoming sparser and the views becoming more panoramic. You will also come across several prayer flags and chortens (Buddhist shrines) that are a common sight in the region.

Eventually, you will arrive at the Langtang Valley, a beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The valley is home to several small settlements including the main village of Langtang, where you can experience the local culture and hospitality.

The trek begins with a gradual ascent through small villages and dense forests. As you climb higher, the forest gives way to open meadows and rocky terrain. Along the way, you’ll pass several small streams and waterfalls.

After about four to five hours of trekking, you’ll reach Kyanjin Gompa, a small village nestled in the heart of the Langtang Valley. Kyanjin Gompa is a popular destination for trekkers and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

In Kyanjin Gompa, you can visit the Kyanjin Gompa monastery, which is believed to be over 500 years old. You can also take a short hike to the top of Kyanjin Ri, which offers panoramic views of the Langtang range.

On this day, you will have an acclimatization day in Kyanjin Gompa to adjust to the high altitude. You can spend the day exploring the surrounding areas or hike up to Tserko Ri, which is a popular viewpoint located at an altitude of 4984m/16352ft. The hike to Tserko Ri is challenging and involves steep uphill climbs, but the panoramic views from the top are worth it.

You can see stunning views of the Langtang range, including Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, Ganchenpo, and Yala Peak. You can also visit the nearby Kyanjin Monastery, which is an ancient Buddhist monastery that holds significant religious and cultural value to the locals. After a full day of exploration and acclimatization, you will return to your teahouse in Kyanjin Gompa for a restful night.

After spending some time exploring the beautiful Langtang Valley and acclimatizing at Kyanjin Gompa, it’s time to start the journey back down to Lama Hotel.

The trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel follows the same trail taken on the way up. The descent can be quite steep in some sections, so it’s important to watch your step and take your time. Along the way, you’ll once again pass through stunning forests of rhododendron and bamboo, and cross over several suspension bridges spanning rushing rivers.

Upon reaching Lama Hotel, you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this quaint mountain village. Take some time to reflect on the journey so far and soak up the beauty of the Langtang region.

On the last day of our trek, we will trek back to Syabrubensi village. We will follow the same trail along the Langtang Khola river, passing through beautiful forests with green vegetation. We will also reach the Old Syabru village, which is located at the confluence of the Langtang and Trishuli Rivers. We will cross the Trishuli River over a suspension bridge and finally reach Syabrubensi, where we will conclude our Himalayan adventure.

you will take a private vehicle and drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will take around 7-8 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Kathmandu, you will have some free time to explore the city or do some souvenir shopping.

In the evening, we will organize a farewell dinner for you in a traditional Nepali restaurant. You will have the chance to taste some delicious Nepali cuisine and enjoy cultural performances, including traditional music and dance. This will be a perfect opportunity to reflect on your trek and share your experiences with fellow trekkers.
